lovely

i've been trying to figure out who i am.

and it's so hard. I don't know how many times its happened to me when someone will say something to me that really hurts. Automatically in my head, I think that what they're pointing out about me is a flaw. Because if it's so obvious...it's bad?

I'm really white. Like, my skin could glow in the dark (okay, maybe not..but still). And so, people will tell me stuff like, "Anyone compared to you, Emma, is tan."

or they'll tell me that i have bony shoulders.

or a weird voice.

or a smile that isn't as good as hers.

or that i look so lost that i could just "blow away" in the wind.

So...what do I do? I...I get really, really insecure. Sometimes I avoid talking about some things just because I don't want those people to judge me...so I don't have to feel bad about whatever it is...even if it's really stupid.

or i just try to cover it up. whatever they said about me, i try to hide.

And I don't think people realize that what they say - can stick with a person for a long time.. a really long time.  So to all of us who have been put down by these sort of things - we're facing a challenge. I know - you think about all the negative stuff people have told you,  and it's so easy to believe. It's so easy to convince yourself\myself to try and change. To change for someone else. I believe what people say. I do. I do all the time, but I don't want to anymore.

But I don't want to anymore, cause c'mon -

You have no idea how lovely you are.

It's time to say "no". No to all that crappy stuff and just say that you are lovely. Lovely, lovely, lovely...

you are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you.

"Hold onto me as we go...

as we roll down this unfamiliar road...
and although this wave is stringing us along
Just know you're not alone.

Cause I'm gonna make this place you're home.

Settle down, it'll all be clear,
Don't pay no mind to the demons...
Cause they'll fill you with fear,

The trouble it might drag you down,
if you get lost,
you can always be found.

Just know you're not alone...
cause I'm gonna make this place your
Home."

7 Questions

Today, I'm linking up with the lovely Gentri Lee for this week's 7 questions! Her blog is adorable - you can check it out here. :) So, here goes...

(this is random, I know. sorry \source/)

1. It's the first day of August- Are you savoring the Summer or ready to jump into Fall?
I don't feel like I've actually had an actual summer yet...my life right now is like a blur to me. But, I really do want to jump into fall. I love the cold... the time where you have to wear jeans and sweatshirts and all that awesome fall stuff. :)

2. You need a quick and healthy meal, what do you make?
Um. I eat... I don't know.

3. You're at the mall, how do you shop?
When I go to the mall, I usually look around in a few stores and if I really, really, really like the item and it has a good price, I buy it. That's how I roll.

4. Would you rather buy a new house or renovate an old one?
You know...I'm not sure. I think I'd want to renovate an old one, just because I like old houses and then I could add my own style to it and stuff.

5. Long hair or short hair?
Since I have to pick one, I'd pick long. Though I like a length somewhere in between long and short.

6. Who is your oldest (not by age) friend?
I'd say...I think Kaitlin and McKenna.

7. What is your favorite blog- currently?
Busy Bee Lauren. You should check it out.

emma stone & andrew garfield

So......these people are the most perfect couple of all time. Emma Stone & Andrew Garfield. Let's all just take a moment and look at the picture above. Notice the smile. Yes, yes. And then notice Emma Stone and him all together. ............I can't take it. So...I've been slightly obsessed, okay?

I just saw "The Amazing Spiderman" a few weeks ago and, personally, I thought it lived up to it's title completely. It was seriously amazing. I could and still can not get enough of it. Although, I've heard a lot of people say that it wasn't as good as the Tobey Maguire versions...I loved it and honestly, I think this Andrew Garfield version was way better. I think the movie totally captured Spiderman's jokey personality and just Peter Parker was...amazing. So okay, I love Andrew Garfield...I'm sorry.. ;)
And then there's Emma Stone. My favorite actor right now. I heard some people say they didn't think she did a good job in the Amazing Spiderman but I thought she did great. I also loved her other movie, "The Help." Maybe you watched it...if you didn't, you should. It's like... ah, so good. Tell me when you watch the Help, mmk? Plus, she is so pretty! I can't take it. Can I please look like her?
So, um, this is Emma Stone & Andrew Garfield...

And this is me.

Now here is just some random stuff I have been obsessing over because of this Andrew Garfield guy.

Have you seen the Amazing Spiderman? Please, if you have, tell me... I'd love to hear what you think. Oh, and especially what you think of Andrew jrlasdkfjas;ldkjf Garfield k;adlskfajslkdfja. Okay? I'm done now. Bye.

up with the birds

"The birds they sang, at the break of day, start again I hear them say...it's so hard to just walk away. The birds they sang, all the choir, start again a little higher... it's a spark in a sea of grey.

The sky is blue, dreamed out loud 'til it's true...
then taken back the part shine through.

My arms turn wings...Oh, those clumsy things, send me up to that wonderful world...and then I'm up with the birds.

Might have to go somewhere they don't know my name...
float all over the world just to see her again...
And I won't show a fear, any pain,
even though all my armor might rust in the rain...

A simple plot, but I know one day, good things are coming our way. A simple plot, but I know one thing, good things are coming our way..."   -coldplay, 'up with the birds'

floral dresses

Lately, I've been loving floral dresses. I barely ever wear dresses and so I honestly don't know why that the past few weeks I have been like..."please, can I have a floral dress?" There has never really been a thought in my mind these pasts few months that had to do with a floral dress. So, here I am, randomly writing this. Why? I don't know. So, without further ado... here are some cute dresses I found around the web for you...
Out of all these, I have two favorties. The dress on the very top left and then the one right beneath it. Which ones do you like?
I love the dress with the blue flowers! It's really simple, but I love it.

Blue flowers. Love.
This is adorable!! I really like how she used black pantyhose underneath the dress...really cool. :) So, tell me...have you been loving the floral dresses or what? Perfect for summer...I know.

we bought a zoo

Wow, I haven't been here in awhile! Crazy. haha Anywho, lately I've been slightly obsessed with the movie, "We Bought A Zoo." I know, I know. When I first heard about it, I thought it was going to be a dumb movie about some animals talking but, no! It wasn't what I thought and actually, it has now been stuck in my mind for the like... the past 24 hours. (And no, turns out, there are no talking animals. THANK GOD!)

I could relate to this movie in some ways. And, I don't know...just something about it makes me feel inspired. Really inspired just to like...get out there and takes risks and find those crazy things in life.
This movie had a sad story but it gave hope. This dad and his two kids move into a house that happens to be in a zoo. I mean, wooooow. But from what all of them were going through (you just need to see the movie, mmk?) it was pretty brave. Brave.

20 seconds of courage. 20 seconds of bravery. So crazy, but yet...so amazing. That's like...a scary hope right there. The first step...it's always the hardest. And it's like, the dad took that first step and it launched a whole adventure.
And...oh my gosh! haha By the end of the movie, I was like dying. I mean, seriously! "If you love me, let me know." Dead, dead, dead. Then he goes and blahahbalhahahahbbllah. Once again, please just go. Go watch the movie. Please.

Oh, and don't forget about the background music! THE BEST I'VE EVER HEARD. Evah. That's one thing I've always noticed in movies. If the movie doesn't have good background music, that lowers a like level for me. I love music (and I mean, love) and so...the music in movies has just gotta fit. Here's one of the songs from the movie...Bramble. That's what it's called and it's probably one of my favorites.

This movie inspired me. It inspired me to hope. To dream. To be adventurous. Yeah, from the the cover it looks like a weird movie with animals in it, but then you watch it...and then you...I honestly don't know. I might just be really, overly in love with this movie...or maybe, I don't know. Maybe you've seen it, maybe you haven't, and maybe you're even wondering right now, "Why do you even like this movie?"

Well...my answer to you is: Why not?
